Follow the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to use halftone brushes in Serif's Affinity Designer. We'll be using our ColorLab Color Comic Kit.

  1. Color your Yellow layer with the Yellow Brushes and the Yellow Swatch. Select the Yellow layer. Open the brushes in the brush panel. Choose a yellow brush. Open the swatch panel. Choose Yellow.
  2. Color your Red layer with the Red Swatch and the Red Brushes. Select the Red layer. Open the swatch panel. Choose the Red swatch. Select a Red brush. Color the areas that you want red.
  3. Choose your Blue layer with the Blue Swatch and Blue Brushes. Select the Blue layer. Select the Blue swatch. Select a Blue brush. Color the areas that you want blue.

  1. Do not mix and match brushes and swatches. Use the yellow brushes with the yellow swatch. Use the red brushes with the red swatch. Use the blue brushes with the blue swatch.
  2. Reference the color chart when in doubt. You can match the color recipe code to your brushes.
