Beautiful Decay Premium Spot Texture Brushes

Love it. So many great textures, lots of options to suit your favourite workflows, sample files and a tutorial!

Retro Supply is my guilty pleasure. I love their products! I just purchased this, haven’t really put it through its paces but it is packed with tons of good stuff and looks like it will be a winner.

If you are looking at their products don’t hesitate to pick something up. Great assets, great pricing and great people. Oh, and they have excellent tutorials as well!

When I first opened it in Procreate, I feared that I made a mistake. I already had similar brushes from a different store but I tried them out, mainly to add texture to the background/foreground of a comic project and it simply hit different. I ended up replacing the previous brushes with the decay brush set.

Particularly the entropy brushes have been great in adding texture to rooms and I have even gotten good results in using them as the reflection off the walls.

But one (ideally) uses them as stamps. You can try using them like a regular brush and with some that will lead to interesting result. But ideally you use them as stamps while keeping your hand on the size toolbar and varying the size while stamping away, giving the decay a varied look.

The only downside in Procreate specifically is that due to the it being usable as a brush, you can't really make out the pattern of the decay and till you use it. This, I think, is more an issue with how Procreate previews brushes and if it was previewed as a stamp, it would lose the option of being used like a brush.

I'm not sure what would be preferable in this situation but it's something to know. Getting the PDF with the patterns reduces the issue but that's at the end just a work around.

I love adding textures to my work. Whether it is through incorporating textures as a foundation, or judiciously using texture brushes over the top. However I want to do it, Beautiful Decay has me covered.

Here's the best part. It doesn't matter if you are using Adobe , Affinity, Procreate, or Clip Studio Paint. This bundle has brushes and textures that will work with your favorite app. As a user of Affinity and Adobe, I love that I can switch between apps and still use the same brushes. I like that a lot, and I hope RSCO does this with more products in the future.

I have just gotten started with the Beautiful Decay brushes and textures. But even now I can see myself using this a whole lot more going forward.

I've purchased a lot of RetroSupply's products.

Usually the process of downloading onto procreate is simple and seamless. This is overly complicated and haven’t been able to use it. Is there something I’m missing?
