Diners… They’re as American as jazz and baseball.
Inspired by streamlined trains, diners first appeared in the northeast United States. They were pre-fabricated and ready to go out of the box.
Slap one down on an empty lot, flip the open sign, and you’re pretty much in business.
Diners are beautiful in a distinctively American way. But that’s not what really interests me. What I find most fascinating is the role they play in America.
For one, patrons come from a wide spectrum of socioeconomic backgrounds. Any given morning you could find a slice of America in the booths. From car mechanics to lawyers to house painters to doctors. All eating the same short order fare together.
But that’s not all. Because diners are part of a rare club. Real diners were open 24/7 - a club reserved for a select group of establishments including nightclubs, bars, and hospitals.
As a result, you got the morning rush of commuters picking up an affordable breakfast and in the wee small hours of the morning, you had bar patrons stumbling in for a greasy meal to absorb the alcohol before work the next day.
In fact, it could be argued that if you knew nothing about America a diner is the fastest and most immersive way to understand the country.
So it’s with that spirit we bring you a brand new font. We call it OverEasy.
OverEasy represents the hustle and bustle of a diner in the morning. Fresh with the smell of pancakes, coffee, and newspapers.
This font is our tribute to an American institution. And like the diners themselves the font has passed through the hands of designers from all across America. Each one helping to tell the font's story.
This is a simple font like the simple fare served at American diners. But it’s got soul and it stands out.
Plus, you can pick it up for about the price of a slice of apple pie a la mode and a hot cup of coffee.
Buy it now and own something truly American and different.
If you've ever browsed through an old science textbook you've probably seen stippling.
Stippling was invented by Giulio Campagnola in approximately 1510. By using the same color but different densities and sizes of dots Guilio was able to create the illusion of different shades in illustrations (you can think of stippling as the great-grandfather of halftones).
This set of brushes created by illustrator/Photoshop brush wizard Alex Dukal makes recreating these stippling effects so easy it will seem like magic!
Packs like this could easily go for $50 or more. Even at that price the quality of the effect and time you save would pay for itself in one project. But Alex is letting us offer this pack to you for just $19.
That's right, for less than the price of a large pizza with cheesy sticks you can get what can only be described as the best stippling brushes known to man.
Grab the pack today for just $19!
This set of tools were made with the latest Photoshop CC, a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet and an old Wacom Graphire 4 using the default configuration. These brushes have also been tested with PS CS5.5 and CS6. Using another combination? The brushes will probably respond a little bit different, so be sure to take care of that.
A collection of hand curated vintage hand-lettering books that cost over $10,000 to acquire. Delivered in high-quality PDF format.
Hand lettering and sign painting have experienced a resurgence in the past few years.
Designers that know how to do hand lettering get more jobs and make more money because it's in such high demand.
But learning hand lettering is time-consuming and hard.
Like any skill the best way to excel quickly and make great work is to build on a rock solid foundation.
Luckily, our good friend Jason Carne at Lettering Library has been curating a library of rare vintage lettering books worth over $10,000.
The Lettering Library Mega Bundle is a master class in the art of hand lettering and sign painting. With 117 rare books packed with real life exercises, lettering theory, inspiration, and plenty of diagrams and examples, you'll never need to buy another lettering book again.
When this bundle went on sale earlier this year designers and hand lettering enthusiasts went bananas for it.
Here's just some of the areas that the Lettering Library Mega Bundle tackles:
If you were to try to hunt down and buy these books yourself, you would easily spend over $10,000 (not including all the time it would take to find them)
If you were to purchase the PDF's from Jason any regular day they would cost between $500 and $700. These books are so dense with information it would be worth every penny. You can study and practice from these books the rest of your life.
But for a limited time, Jason gave us the okay to offer you this pack for just $197. That's 39% less than you would pay any other week of the year for the complete collection!
Last time this bundle was offered it was purchased by hundreds of lettering artists in just a few days!
Jason told me he won't be selling it again for this price for a LONG time (maybe never). So this is a no-brainer.
The Lettering Library Mega Bundle is your secret weapon to becoming a hand lettering genius. Grab it now!
Note: In case it isn't 100% obvious this pack won't magically make you a lettering genius. You'll need to put in the work. But each time you practice you'll know you have the absolute best resources available. Plus, you can even brag to your designer friends that you have a digital collection of rare books that are next to impossible to find.
Bonus: Download a FREE lettering book from the pack. Just this one book in the pack includes resources like working with pencils, brushes, speedballs, letter spacing, stylized lettering, calligraphy, and more!
Remember, this is just one of 117 books in the collection. You can own all 117 of them for just $197.
"I bought it within 5 seconds of seeing it (which is faster than I make impulse buys in the chips section of the grocery store). Treat yo self to this invaluable resource OR boyfriends/girlfriends of letterers: buy this for your type-obsessed significant other and win holiday gift giving for life."
"All my design, illustration, type friends... CHECK THIS OUT! Jason Carne has assembled the Avengers of type instruction and cataloging. This is an insane deal and you should check it out! Jason is the real deal."
"Lettering Library is a great source of inspiration for all typography artists and designers."
"Easiest decision I've made all year."
I think this is obvious, but just to be clear, this pack is a collection of 117 PDFs created from Jason's collection of authentic vintage lettering books. You are not buying physical books.
Note: The discounted price is based on the cost of these books if you were to purchase them individually from Lettering Library.
Warning: This pack is deeply discounted. As a result we reserve the right to end the sale and increase the price at anytime. This price is only available as long as it is on this page.
