The Case of the Looming Deadline T-shirt

I have been participating in Fright Fall since 2021. It is always a great time drawing and getting better at using digital tools. I have also been able to join an amazing community of artists and nerds that are always positive and encouraging. This year a design of mine was selected as a favorite for Werewolf and it meant so much to me! I am proud to wear this shirt and be a part of the “Cult of 31”!

I wasn’t expecting a T-shirt to make me feel inspired, but here we are. When I first opened the package, the shirt smelled faintly of tea tree oil (a small but calming surprise). That instantly made it feel like a piece of gear rather than just merch.

The quality is great, soft, and the warm beige color has this timeless, lived-in look that goes with everything. It’s neutral enough for layering but interesting enough to wear solo, especially in a studio full of loud colors and textures. It’s quickly become my go-to for long design sessions or market days when I need to feel like myself but still look like I know what I’m doing.

No itchy tags. Nothing to cut off or scratch at mid-project. It’s a clean, minimalist print that makes it feel like the shirt was made for people who move a lot, think a lot, and don’t want to be distracted by uncomfortable details.

If you’re the kind of artist who lives in your tees and appreciates subtle, sensory things like smell, texture, and tone, this one might surprise you in the best way. I’d love to see more colors in the same cut. I’d buy them all.

It did not disappoint and I absolutely love the vintage vibe! I opted for the off white color which really works well for the graphics.
