Customer Work: August 2024

Every day, we see art created by our inspiring customers with RetroSupply digital brushes and textures on our Instagram feed. We've selected a few outstanding designs from artists we found this May made using RetroSupply Co. products.

Tag us in your post, and let us know which of our tools you used so that you can have a chance to be featured on the RetroSupply Co. Instagram account!

stumptworkshop

This exciting and electric illustration was originally made in the 3D software Nomad Sculpt before artist Ray Tollison brought it into Adobe Fresco and used the Chris Piascik Pack for finishing touches and effects. We love this mixed media approach with excepctionally fun creativity both in the execution and subject.

kawafi

Evoking the work of classic Japanese prints or a still from a Studio Ghibli film, this illustration by Kawafi is a stunning landscape made with our Risograph Brush & Texture Kit. We love the heavy use of the shader brushes to give an almost glowing quality to the tree, foliage, and sky.

Blue Moon Cartoons

We love a good mash-up so this Ren & Stimpy meets Marvel crossover by Blue Moon Cartoons definitely caught our eye. Made with multiple RetroSupply Co. products including Phantom Paper and Standard Pens. With all the animation studios seeming to be a thing of the past, this illustration has us wanting to saddle up with a bowl of cereal to the TV set while we can.

Abi Salvesen

Abi Salvesen's stunning work always seems to be able to outdo itself which is made even more impressive with how prolific she is. This glowing gold frame looks like it was taken straight from some extravagant old world mansion. Made using our tools for Procreate such as the Lo-Fi Grain & Noise brushes.

Jurgita Vas

A new artist on our radar, Jurgita Vas' work is full of stunning geometric compositions with fun subjects and bright colors. This breakdancing inspired animation (yes the original moves!) features our Risograph Brush & Texture Kit. A great piece especially because breakdancing made its debut into the Olympics this month as well.

Mike Ryan

You might be familiar with Mike Ryan's work already because we've featured it before. Having a unique knack for taking familiar characters and making them his own, we love this Superman portrait featuring ColorLab (of course) and other RetroSupply Co. tools for Procreate.

Juno Regen

The classic demure style of Juno Regen is a perpetual favorite. The simple subjects are expertly composed and quite often feature compelling colors and textures for added interest. This enticing portrait was created with many different RetroSupply Co. products including Phantom Paper, the Risograph Brush & Texture Kit, and other products featured in our Complete Collection for Procreate.

Aranza Sanchez

We could all use a reminder to spread a little kindness. This whimsical illustration by Aranza Sanchez is a good message wrapped in a charming package. The work features multiple RetroSupply products including Dot Dreams and DupliTone.

Jared Sylvia

The surrealist work of Jared Sylvia is full of social commentary, blending familiar objects into unfamiliar situations to explore the many unbelievable situations we seem to find ourselves in these days. Using bold colors and graphic patterns, Jared's work is unique and enticing.

This new piece of his utilizes TransferTone and Dot Dreams which Sylvia illustrated!

Stefan Mallette

We've only just recently been introduced to Stefan Mallette's work and it's made a great impression with this farming inspired poster design. Made using multiple RetroSupply Co. tools including Phantom Paper and Drunk Sailor stippling brushes. The bright mix of yellow, green, and red with sparse overprinting gives an attractive screen printing effect.

Conclusion

We've looked at a diverse range of artists and styles, including interesting takes on familiar classics to explorations in the world of dance. You may have noticed that many artists were using tools recreating print effects such as screen printing and risography.
