MAKE YOUR ART LOOK LIKE IT CRAWLED OUT OF A VINTAGE HORROR COMIC

Ink, shade, distress, and study your way into the gritty look and surprisingly efficient working methods of classic horror comics.

With Ink Bleed, you get 15 horror-inspired inkers, 5 shaders and washes, and 5 defect brushes designed to help clean digital artwork feel rougher, darker, and more alive.

Everything you need to ink, shade, and distress your work in a vintage horror-comic style.

  • 15 distressed inkers. A full set of rough, gritty ink brushes inspired by old horror comics and monster magazines.
  • 5 shaders and washes. Add dirty halftone shading, line shading, stipple texture, soft washes, and hard washes to build tone and atmosphere.
  • 5 defect brushes. Rough up clean digital artwork with printed-looking flaws, worn edges, and distressed imperfections.
  • Inspired by vintage horror comics and magazines. Built around the look and feel of EC Comics, Famous Monsters of Filmland, Creepy, Eerie, and other classic horror reference material.
  • Includes an inking practice sheet. Study the strokes, try the brushes, and practice building your own horror-comic textures and effects.
  • Includes Working in the Dark. A practical guide that turns stories from EC Comics, Warren, Eerie Publications, and other horror-comic history into lessons on shipping faster, working with constraints, building repeatable creative systems, and finishing more work.

Most "horror" or "comic" ink brushes are either too clean (modern, even lines with a frustratingly smooth plastic look) or too generic, with over-the-top, scratchy grunge texture applied to everything.

Ink Bleed was built differently. Rooted in the pre-Code horror comics of roughly 1948–1955, printed hot and cheap on four-color newsprint. The result is inking that feels like it survived the Comics Code instead of being born after it.

Best inkers I have used for procreate!

They feel and look like authentic pens! Love the texture - finally a brush that feels like the real thing!

    Unfortunately, it's not for me

I’ll give an honest review: this is the first product from rsco that I didn’t like. Let me clarify right away - it’s not because it’s a bad product, but rather because it just wasn’t right for me. Judging by the product names (I understand they were trying to be original), it was hard to tell exactly what tools they were - I prefer to do most of my work with a brush pen, and there wasn’t one included here. I think it would be helpful to specify in the description which tools are included. Otherwise, the brushes seemed a bit repetitive to me and focused more on effects than on fundamentally different brush types. I experimented a bit with the settings and managed to get some interesting results. But I’m sure some people will like this and find it suitable for their work.

    Monsterously fun!

These brushes have a really nice feel to them, the bleed looks nice and natural. A look I’ve been looking for for a while. I’m really happy with how they work.
